Gordon Shields
Managing Director
Gordon has 35+ years’ experience consulting to companies across several industries including financial services, energy, mining, manufacturing and public sector.
His expertise is centered on the technology that powers business performance and the supporting IT function . Mr Shields experience is broad and covers areas such as IT strategy, design and implementation, outsourcing, cloud computing, IT operating models, and M&A.
Prior to joining Sellside Group, Gordon was a senior partner at a major consulting company where he worked with clients in Canada, US and the UK and led practices globally. He regularly consults with senior executives.
Mr. Shields’ has assisted clients to:
Assess their current business and technology baselines to benchmark their performance and develop strategies for performance enhancement
Define a new IT strategy and tactical plans
Set up and run major transformation initiatives
Define alternative sourcing strategies such as outsourcing of technology and business processes
Perform due diligence of targets
Plan and drive post merger integrations architect new systems and select software solutions
Define a new operating model for the Technology function design and implement data governance and data management
Gordon is based in Toronto where he enjoys the outdoors cycling, boating and downhill skiing. Mr. Shields is a graduate of the University of Waterloo.
