Stephen Silverstein

Managing Director

Stephen Silverstein brings over 40 years’ experience as an entrepreneur, owner, operator, PE investor, banker and advisor to the SellSide Group. Previously Mr. Silverstein created POM Corp. as a general corporate consulting practice with a special focus on assisting middle-market Entrepreneurs exit their business. Prior Mr. Silverstein as CEO, completed the successful turnaround and sale of Valiant Solutions, a leading provider of computer-based services in the Human Capital Management space for PeakEquity Partners in 2019. Earlier, Mr. Silverstein was President of Sandata Technologies, Inc., a leading home healthcare computer service company where he first acted as a consultant in taking the company private. As President the company grew from a regional service provider with a limited product offering into a national market leader providing a “total solution”. Mr. Silverstein led five strategic acquisitions as part of the growth strategy. Shareholder value increased 22x during this period.


Before joining Sandata Technologies, Inc., Mr. Silverstein was a co-founding Partner of Thompson Street Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm currently with over $4 Billion AUM. Originally Capital Z Investments sponsored the formation of Thompson Street Capital Partners and committed $100 million to its first Fund.


Prior to Thompson Street Capital Partners, Mr. Silverstein led American Recreation Company, Inc. (ARC) and its successor company through merger with Bell Sports. At the conclusion of the merger, Bell Sports Inc. was a publicly traded worldwide manufacturer, marketer and distributor of bicycle helmets (Bell, Giro Brand), Mongoose bicycles and parts and accessories with revenues over $400 million. During his 15 year tenure with the companies, Mr. Silverstein held a variety of senior executive positions, ultimately becoming President and CEO of ARC and later President and Chief Operating Officer of Bell Sports, Inc. Mr. Silverstein led six strategic acquisitions as well as the original management buyout of ARC, its IPO and finally the merger with Bell Sports, Inc. ARC shareholder value increased 7.5x between the IPO of ARC and the merger with Bell Sports, Inc.


Mr. Silverstein began his business career joining Chemical Bank in their MBA Management Training Program holding various senior lending positions in the Corporate Bank. Mr. Silverstein graduated from Brooklyn College with a major in Political Science and received an MBA from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration concentrating in Finance.


Mr. Silverstein has served on boards and advisory councils of various public and private corporate, civic, religious and not-for-profit organizations. He is a thirty-year member of the Young President’s Organization and currently is a member of the YPO Arizona Gold Chapter.  Mr. Silverstein was also a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and has been a guest lecturer at Yale University, Vanderbilt University, Young Presidents Organization and Adjunct Professor of Finance at Molloy College.
